Cikolatte

Cikolatte doing fabulous coffee, teas and chocolates.

But, we have a new cafe opening in the street – Wild Thyme, an organic supermarket and cafe. It looks fabulous. Stay tuned for more news and photos of Wild Thyme.

Found Objects

Bottle Brush

Bottlebrushes are prolific at the moment. They are red and luscious and frame the sky. However, parrots love them, and nip the stem, resulting in a carpet of wonderful redness. When this carpet is in the driveway of a house, the flowers are flattened. A bit like floral roadkill (oops, sorry).

Feather light

A feather blew into my house one day. Look at that spine – isn’t it marvellous?

Berry Delight

Red really is the colour of this time of year, right up until Xmas.

A floral tribute in Spring

Bottlebrushes

The bottlebrushes in full bloom, all over Adelaide.

Roses

And so are Roses. This is the time for them in Adelaide. They are Everywhere. Adelaide is quite famous for its roses. (Actually, there are three plants flowering prolifically all over Adelaide right now - Bottlebrushes, Native Frangipane, and Roses. But roses get the fame  only.)

Blossom

Constructed Objects

Drought Relief

One way to get around our VERY SEVERE drought and VERY SEVERE water restrictions is to use plastic flowers – even in hanging baskets…..

Get Drunk

…. and maybe to drink beer instead of water??? !!

Wonderous pictures! I am still exploring your blog – So much good stuff here! You are inspiring me to cook a bit again and to include veggies much more often. You’re turning out to be good for my health!

I went out to a local park with my new lenses and took some surpirisingly good pics – I don’t have them up yet. Life keeps rolling no matter how many blog plans I have!

Hi Kimberley – So glad that you are cooking again. That’s great. AND photographing. I look forward to seeing the pics.

Thank you SivaPriya. That really means something coming from you – your photos are always wonderful.

What fantastic photos! How fun it is to see pics of spring as our leaves fall OFF the trees. And I love how you describe that bottlebrush as floral roadkill. That’s hysterical!

By the way, thanks for stopping by swirling notions!

I have never seen a tree quite like that bottlebrush tree! It’s not april fools day is it?
    Gorgeous photos!
I have a gorgeous cherry blossom tree in my garden, but winter is fast approaching and the blossom is gone!

Hi holler, yep, that is a real tree! No Apr fools joke here. They are quite something. Cherry blossom – something we don’t experience here except in the hills – it is far too hot. It must be lovely to have one in the garden.

Hi lia, glad you liked the roadkill joke! It must be wierd looking at spring pics when your weather is cold.

    Enjoy the week. VY
