The dawn of a hot day. We are in a prolonged heat wave of 40C temperatures as I write.
The mornings are beautiful. Quiet, cooler. But soon it heats up.
We keep the blinds down, to keep the house cool.
It is a scorcher.
Few people venture out into the street in the middle of the day. Only crazy people and photographers.
Even the bins seem to be burning up.
And the postboxes have left town, it is too hot.
The cafes are vacant.
And someone’s icecream melted too quickly, far too quickly.
More evidence of ways to keep cool. A cold JB.
A beer cap?
Cacti wilt in the heat.
But I stay deliciously cool.

I would have stayed away from that ice cream on the sidewalk. But the pics capture the essence of your posts. Its HOT out there
We had that scorching hot weather here too in Summer. It’s lot better now. We even had snow last weekend!! That drink looks deliciously cool and yummy indeed! Enjoy!:)
Oh my, it must be really burning up there….lovely pics!! Where did all the post boxes go????
What a lovely way to convey the mood around….BTW any interest in cricket that the final Indo Aus Test match being played in Adelaide…can imagine the state of the poor players
Great photos. I feel for you. It gets that hot in summer here too. Cooking is not even a possibility then.
Great photo essay. It’s rather impressive that you were able to convey the scorching heat through your subtle images. -X
I second Xander, this was a great photo essay.
Hi everyone – back from holidays. Thanks for your lovely comments. It is a bit cooler at the moment – just under 30C. Tomorrow it gets hot again, but at least my aircon is fixed now!
I was in India when the Indian cricket team played in Adelaide. I am not sure how hot it was then. It sure is an exciting series!
