I have been sick.
It is one of those cold things. Sore throat. Banging head. Achy body.
But, trooper that I am (he he he) I have worked during the day and collapsed at night.
So a whole lot of things have not been done.
Including taking and submitting a photo for CLICK! And I am one of the judges. Shame. Note that the judges entries are not available for voting. That would be a bit biased.
So I hope bee and jai won’t mind, but I am using 2 much loved photos from the past. I am late posting, so I don’t know whether my photos will be linked into the site, but I thought I would post them here anyway.
The first, my one for CLICK!, is chilli on leaf. And my second is my half a strawberry.
The theme is AU NATUREL. Unadulterated food, shining through with its very essence. Exactly. My style of food. Thank you bee and jai for this wonderful theme. I look forward to seeing all of the entries.
You can start to view the entries here. Pick your favourites, and stayed tuned for the Readers Choice judging.
CLICK! is a theme-based photography event. Each month, entries are invited based on a culinary ingredient or concept, and this month’s concept is “AU NATUREL“.
It’s Spring in the northern hemisphere, Autumn in the southern. Au Naturel this month celebrates the abundance and elegance in the produce aisle and farmers’ markets that these seasons bring. The colours, the textures, the beauty of food.
Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own; and from morning to night, as from the cradle to the grave, it is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy that we can scarcely mark their progress.” ~ Charles Dicken
Au Naturel celebrates unadulterated food. No recipes are necessary (although they can be included), the focus is on the photo.
The wonderful Bee and Jai asked me to help judge this month’s (April) competition. I am so excited to be asked, and am looking forward to judging the many many wonderful entries. My companion judges are:
Andrew of Spittoon Extra
Briana of Figs with Bri
Cynic - Nature photographer with a passion for birds.
Jennie of Straight from the Farm Winner of CLICK: February 2008

j, just wanted to let you know that we made the baked strawberries again - this time we used some pomegranate molasses and lemon thyme. definitely try pomegranate molsasses if you haven’t already. it’s fantastic. you will find it in afghan, iranian or arab stores. you can use it in any recipe that calls for molasses, jaggery or balsamic vinegar.
Oh, that sounds so very good. I have read of pomegranate molasses, but not seen it. I will look harder. So pleased that you like the recipe.

Semi Dried Tomatoes with Pomegranate: A recipe « A Life (Time) of Cooking // June 15, 2008 at 6:33 am
[...] Recently I bought some pomegranate molasses. It was with a sense of frustration with Australian pomegranates - lovely red colours, awfully bitter tastes. Having tasted in India what real pomegranate is supposed to taste like, I finally resorted to bottled pomegranate after a suggestion from Seena and bee. [...]
