Figs are one of the most special fruit. This simple dessert combines flavours that go so well with them – rosewater, honey and almonds. There is no cooking involved, so the dessert (or midnight snack) is ready in minutes.
Figs with Rosewater and Almonds
Take 1 or 2 gently washed figs per person. I find 1 fig is enough after a good meal. Cut into quarters and place on a plate. Drizzle a little rosewater on each quarter, and then some runny honey over the lot. Heat the honey over hot water or in the microwave (for a few seconds only) or over hot water if it is not free flowing.
Sprinkle over chopped slivered almonds and serve.
It is sweet and beautiful.
