Chai. Aaah, the very word invokes relaxation. In colder weather it comes into its own with its warming, comforting and nourishing emotive qualities.

Heavenly Gentle Chai
Take a cup milk and half cup water. Add a tspn black tea and simmer very gently for 20 mins. This sweetens and thickens the milk. Add 1/2 tspn each of cardamom powder and cinnamon powder, a pinch of clove powder and another of ginger powder. Add a sweetner if desired – jaggery or brown sugar is nice. Simmer for 5 – 10 mins. Stir, strain and serve.
If you prefer a less milky chai, use half cup milk with a cup of water.
